Peanut Butter Oatmeal Bars

I’ve been on a peanut butter kick and can’t quit it. From light peanut butter pie to brownie peanut butter cups, I have been seriously addicted to peanut butter.

These peanut butters are delicious and simple!  The milk chocolate on top is so delicious and cannot be compared!

You’ll Need:
Peanut Butter Bar
1 stick of butter
1/3 cup of peanut butter
½ cup white sugar
½ cup brown sugar
1 egg
½ teaspoon vanilla
½ teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon salt
1 ¼ cup of flour
1 cup of oats (I actually think this would taste even better without oats)

Milk Chocolate Icing
6 tablespoons of butter
6 tablespoons of milk
1 ½ cups of white sugar
1 cup of chocolate chips
dash of Vanilla

Step-by-step:
Peanut Butter Bars
1. Cream butter, sugars, peanut butter, egg and vanilla until smooth
2. Add baking soda, salt, and slowly add in flour and oats (1/2 cup incriments).  Mix well, the dough will be very thick.
3. Press into a greased 9x13 pan.
4. Bake for 12 minutes at 350 degrees.

Start making the milk chocolate icing after the peanut butter bars start baking.

1. Melt butter, sugar, and milk in a small saucepan and bring to boil.
2. Allow to cook at a rolling boil for 30 seconds and immediately remove from heat
3. Add chocolate chips and vanilla to milk mixture, stirring frequently until chips are melted.
4.  As soon as the peanut butter bars are ready, pour chocolate immediately on top.
5. Cool completely and serve with a large glass of milk.

Hope you love it as much as my family did :)
